Trio's Formation A Runaway Success
In a musical world dominated by men, the Canadian country sirens of Runaway Angel are working hard to carve their own path — and ready to give the guys a run for their money.
The group first formed in 2014, when Ann Chaplin, Cadence Grace, and Stacey Zegers, who were each solo artists in their own right, saw the need for something a little different in the industry.
“I always thought the music market was missing a female trio ever since The Dixie Chicks first left about 10 years ago,” said Zegers. “In hindsight, I think if it was three different people, it wouldn’t have worked. We’re all very different, but very the same at the same time.”
